Terms of service
These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed with Sideways Wine Collective (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing through www.sidewayswine.co.za you confirm your agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Pricing

All prices include VAT at 15%.

Prices are per bottle or per case as indicated.

We reserve the right to update pricing at any time without notice.
2. Availability

All wines listed are subject to availability.

Wine vintages change regularly. In some cases, the website may display a specific vintage (e.g., 2024), but the supplier may only have the newer vintage available (e.g., 2025).

Sideways Wine Collective reserves the right to supply the newer available vintage without contacting you first.

By placing an order, you agree that the most recent available vintage may be delivered if the displayed vintage is no longer in stock.

If a vintage change materially affects the wine style or price, we will notify you to confirm before shipping.
3. AGE RESTRICTION

We do not sell wine to persons under the age of 18.

Your order may not be transferred to anyone under 18.
4. DELIVERY

Delivery will be made to the address provided during checkout.

Delivery takes 3–9 business days depending on region, supplier stock and courier schedules.

Couriers may call before or on the day of delivery — customers must answer their phone to prevent delays.

If no adult (18+) is present when delivery is attempted, the goods will be retained by the courier and a second delivery attempt will be charged to the customer.

Delivery fees depend on the number of bottles/cases and destination.

We are not liable for delays caused by suppliers, shipping partners or circumstances beyond our control.

All deliveries are handled by reputable courier partners.
5. INSURANCE

All products are insured until delivered and signed for at the delivery address.
6. ORDER CANCELLATION

Orders may only be cancelled if stock has not yet been dispatched.

Cancellation must be requested in writing to admin@sidewayswine.co.za
7. RETURNS
-
If you are dissatisfied with the quality of any wine, notify us within 14 days of delivery.

You must return the wines at your cost for assessment.

If the wine was faulty at the time of delivery, we will refund the product and all courier costs (delivery + return).

If wines are not returned within 14 days, the order is deemed accepted.
8. REFUNDS

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used when ordering (credit card, PayFast, PayStack, or EFT).

Refunds are processed once goods have been inspected and validated.
9. PAYMENT

Payment may be made using Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards via our secure payment gateways.

All card transactions are encrypted and processed securely.
10. MERCHANT OUTLET COUNTRY

South Africa

All transactions are processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions are governed by South African law.

The South African courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from your use of our website or any orders placed.
12. VARIATION

Sideways Wine Collective may change these Terms at any time without notice.

The Terms in effect at the time an order is placed will apply to that order.
