Boekenhoutskloof Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 (Case of 6 × 750ml)

The Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes grown in two neighbouring vineyards on deep alluvial soils and from organically farmed home vineyards on decomposed granite slopes in the Bo-hoek district. A cool growing season with small, concentrated berries was followed by a challenging heatwave, demanding meticulous vineyard and berry selection to ensure quality and balance. The wine was gently vinified in concrete vessels and matured for 22 months in mostly new French oak, resulting in a refined, expressive profile. It opens with complex aromas of dark berries, pencil shavings, and herbs, leading to a juicy, balanced palate of figs, liquorice, and spice, lifted by fresh acidity and finishing with notes of plum, dark chocolate, cedar, and thyme.
